CFH-L SERIES — BASE-MOUNTED

Lever-Type Constant Supports

The conventional linkage constant pattern in a floor-standing frame — constant load from below, deviation within the 6% MSS SP-58 allows, bench-tested per unit, at general-service pricing.

Construction

Spring and lever-cam linkage — the constant pattern piping engineers have specified for decades — built into a fabricated floor-standing frame. The pipe or clamp base rests on the top load column; the frame legs bolt or weld to steel or foundation. Every unit is bench-tested and locked at the cold position before dispatch.

  • Load deviation within the 6% limit of MSS SP-58
  • Travel 25–300 mm typical; larger on request
  • Adjustment allowance typically ±10% of design load
  • Frame and mounting dimensions stated per tag on the data sheet
  • Hydrotest stops and transport locks fitted as standard

Support or hanger?

Same mechanism, inverted load path. If overhead steel is available, the lever-type constant hanger suspends the load on a rod. Where the line runs near floors, racks or foundations, this base-mounted version stands under it instead. Loads, travels and testing are identical — a schedule can mix both freely.

Lever-type or MA-Series?

Simple rule: if the specification says "constant support, ≤6%", this series does the job economically. If the line is truly critical — main steam, reheat, near turbine nozzles — or the plant wants lateral damping in the same device, step up to our MA-Series base-mounted constant supports with bench-verified ≤3% deviation. We quote both side by side on request.

Frequently asked questions

When is the lever-type constant support the right choice?

When the specification says constant support within 6%, the line must be carried from below, and the budget favours the conventional pattern. It is the economical constant support for general service; for critical lines or lateral damping, step up to the MA-Series base-mounted constant supports.

How does it differ from the lever-type constant hanger?

Same lever-cam mechanism, inverted load path: the hanger is suspended from above on a rod, while the support stands in a floor-standing frame under the pipe with the load column up. Loads, travels and testing are the same.

What information do you need to quote?

Hot load, total vertical travel with direction, pipe size and temperature, plus the available height under the pipe. We size each unit and return a data sheet per tag with frame and mounting dimensions.

Is every unit tested?

Yes — each unit passes a load-travel bench test and ships locked at the cold position with hydrotest stops and transport locks fitted.

What finishes are available?

Primer finish as standard on the fabricated frame, with epoxy systems or hot-dip galvanizing to project specification for coastal and outdoor environments.
